Xander (gebouwbeheerder) was kind enough to gift us a considerable number of rgb ambilight strips, removed from phillips flatscreen televisions that were to become part of a video wall. He also salvaged the matching ribbon connectors. The strips are populated with side-emitting rgb leds, as well as a TI tlc59** series pwm controller, so it should be a piece of cake to get them up and running as part of an interesting project.

They are currently being stored in two large cardboard tubes, top shelf next to the 3D printer.
